Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need help desperately. My shopping cart went down while I was on vacation which means it has been down for almost a month now. My Miva account was bundled through Hostway, therefore, my support comes from Hostway. They can't seem to figure out what is wrong. My site works fine up to the point where a customer is ready to check out and then it gives a 404 error code. I am going in circles with the support team at Hostway and don't know where to go next. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused the downage. No maintenance or anything was done during that time period.

It would be helpful if you would post a link to your store.

Your site is in maintenance which makes it difficult to look at for you. You should host with a host that can properly support your business.

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your secure server is borked. Looks like either your files got wiped or they screwed up the configuration path. Pathing issues are the most likely culprit. Looking at https://puroconjunto.com/merchant.mv yields the message that /cgi-bin/miva/merchant.mv cannot be found. Perhaps someone has mistaken miva for a cgi-bin script, or set the server paths incorrectly so it's looking for the data in the wrong place. Looking along the normal /Merchant2/merchant.mv retrieves a 404. 5'll get you 10 that's the source of your problem.

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/cgi-bin/miva/merchant.mv is a "correct" albeit not the best path/method for Miva Merchant. So you you now have multiple reasons to be looking for a new host.

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandrous,

Do you have a ticket with hostway that we can reference when calling them? Something is wrong when the cart goes into a secure environment. Please reply back (or prviate message) with a hostway ticket number and we can contact hostway on your behalf.

Thank you,

Miva Merchant Support Manager

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it a reasonable setup to have the non-secure site use /Merchant2/ and the secure site to use /cgi-bin/miva/?

It is common but far from desirable to have two different URL's when going from insecure to secure since it prevents you from using relative links in your images, etc.

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait, check that.

The secure server checkout link is pointing to a compiled miva file, merchant.mvc. The standard server is clearly running uncompiled, and if you look through the secure directory, you can see the uncompiled miva file there ,though it doesn't seem to work either.

Re: Shopping Cart Down Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm wondering if the engine has been upgraded? And yes, why are you linking to a complied version
https://id213.chi.us.securedata.net/...hant2/merchant.mvc
when you have an uncompiled store?
https://id213.chi.us.securedata.net/...hant2/merchant.mv

Who set that link up in your Domain Settings > Site Configuration
