    Default Cancel Only Item in Order; Paypal Payment Refund

    Howdy,

    Today I received an order for 1 item that we ended up being out of so I selected the item in the Miva order and clicked the cancel button which now shows the order as 'cancelled'. I don't see any indication yet about the payment being refunded. The customer paid by PayPal and before I initiated the cancelled item the refund button was greyed out within Miva (I took this to mean the payment wasn't completed or batched yet.)

    Should I initiate a refund directly through Paypal or given time will Miva initiate its own refund through Paypal? Is there any danger of double refunding if I manually do it through Paypal's site (and then Miva does its own refund later?)

    If the Refund button is greyed out, then it could be you're using an older PayPal module or one that doesn't support in admin refunds (depending on setup).

    There is no batching process with PayPal, so you should login to PayPal and refund it from there.
