Can someone tell me, what is the correct order to export a stores categories, products, product variants, attributes from a current store and import these into a new empty store.

I guessing it goes something like:

export categories first
export products
export attributes

import categories
import products
import attributes

I'm seeing where attributes need products to already be in the system?

Also, what is this Variant import? In my product export, it contains all the variant sub products. I don't see a variant export.

By doing the above.....it seems a lot of product info is added. However, I have to manually generate all inventory variants (although it doesn't recreate any actual product....just links them). I also notice the variant images arean't carried over anywhere.

Any help would be great.

I have a Miva 5.5 client who is trying to integrate some kind of third party gift card service into their site. That service has its own list of payment gateways that it can work with, none of which appear in my standard install of Miva. Does anyone know if there are modules that would allow use of any of the gateways below?

I want to create a landing page with functionality similar to the way the Buy Now button works (i.e., the Buy Now button bypassing BASK and taking you straight to OCST).

IOW's, imagine a landing page with 3 different offers, each with its own Buy Now button. A customer chooses one of the offers by clicking the Buy Now button and is taken to the first checkout page (OCST) with that product already in the cart.

I suppose you could create an alternative PROD template and use it as the landing page, but that would only work for a single product, not three. Plus I'm not sure the Buy Now button is available on PROD.

I'm trying to emulate the mass mailings used by many merchants which link to landing pages specially optimized for conversion.

Ideas on how best to accomplish this, or something close to it?

I posted this before but didn't get any responses. Is the something simple I'm missing or can't it be done.

I have a question about the <title> tag and the <meta name="title" content=> tag. The <title> tag is my category title, which is not always optimized for SEO. I added the <meta title tag> with the info I want google to use as my page titles but Google is picking-up the <title> tag and not using the meta title tag which is the one I want to use.


Is there any way to get rid of the <title> tag and change the <meta name=> tag to <title>?

I have a lot of custom fields that inadvertently got the wrong data imported into it. It is all the same custom field. I created an import template with the custom field option of "Delete existing data when imported data is empty". I assigned all the fields manually to make sure I imported them correctly.
The upload spreadsheet has 3 columns - Prod code, Description, and this particular custom field.

Any idea where I may have gone wrong with trying to get this to mass delete the data?

I've just had some weirdness happen with an Alternate Display Page template that I assigned to a category. If I view the category using the long URL (clicked the link from the category itself in the admin) the template displays as expected. But I look at the category via the short link - the template is not applied.

Any thoughts?

I swear I've seen this question asked a zillion times but trying to search for it comes up with one or two results that won't help. How can a page break be inserted so that each order within a batch will print out on it's own page?

I'd like to change the location of where the mini-basket popup window opens. Perhaps to the middle of the page instead of right below the link. I suspect it's going to take a bit more than just some CSS.

This is a little confusing, since Google rebranded from Google Checkout to Google Wallet in September 2011. But it appears they are shutting down Google Checkout/Wallet as we currently know it (ie: Google as a payment processor) in November.

I assume this means that Miva merchants should disable their Google Checkout modules on or before November 20th (last day to charge orders per retirement schedule in link above).

They are introducing Google Wallet Instant Buy to leverage the google brand with your existing payment processor.

I am trying to set a conditional in the product display layout to display attributes, if they exist, else a spacer e.g. a spacer image.

I can't seem to find a variable that will work. I have tried a few and here is one example:

Obviously l.settings:attribute:options is wrong but I am having a brain fade and can't seem to think of a variable that will work i.e. test to see if there are attributes applicable to a product and if not, display the spacer.

Is bitcoin integration coming any time soon?

Is there a list of Payment gateways that work well with Miva (other than authorize.net) that allow you to use all the features of Miva, to process all the payment in Miva with out going to the Payment gateway website.

We are having problems with a few images that have very hot colors like magentas and oranges in them.
The GD Library seems to be squashing those colors and so those images look muddy.
On our old store where we spun our own stepchild version of imagemachine but used imagemagik instead of gdlibrary
and this problem doesn't happen.

I saw a this gd-library color problem mentioned on stackoverflow several times. it was even posted again just a few days ago.
One solution was to change the imagecreate() function to imagecreatetruecolor().
I am wondering which one Miva implemented for imagemachine.
And can it be changed?
We have quite a few products in 'hot' colors like hot pink, bright magenta and translucent pink and orange products
that this is happening to.

We even testing using both 80% and also 100% uncompressed source images to upload and playing with the store compression settings changing it from our default or 85% to 90%. No combination helped.

I'm pretty sure it's the gdlibrary underlying imagemachine that is causing this.
Is there some way to add some flags to the resizing calls that imagemachine is making?

I am looking for a module that will Reorder an Entire Order on a Single Click.
I've seen several posts on this subject and I am not finding an existing module solution.

It seems that ToolKit used to be able to do this, but not anymore OR ToolKit still does it but only for products that Do Not Track Inventory....or am I wrong?

I use Attributes and understand that it can be an issue. Depending on any modules that are out there - I will figure out how I will handle that.

I also Track Product Inventory.
