Originally, announcement threads where not open to responses. Given the last two or three announcements, I'm inclined to suggest that we go back to that status.

When someone posts an announcement, please respect the intention of that forum. To Announce. It was only opened up to responses so that potential users could ask questions and the developer could answer the question once...and not dozens of time.

I for one will probably request that answers be posted directly privately to me and give responses in follow ups until politeness, professionalism and manners prevail....now site up straight, wipe your nose, and wipe your feet before you come in.

Works for me. I was a little surprised to see it was even possible to reply in the announcement forum, as most other forums I've been a part of have that disabled for exactly that reason; to keep others from cluttering it with FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) posts, intentionally, passive-aggresively or otherwise. Maybe the reason there is no "edit post" button in there has to do with the change of status?

It is a little disheartening to see the thread view counts in here. Does anyone even read them? I miss the old listmanager (moment of nostalgia).

Me too. I think the "thread starter" needs to "close" the thread during the process of posting it. Don't quote me, I'm just a Hall Monitor who breaks the rules too :o

And yes - I closed this thread (yeah it worked) because it really doesn't belong in the Announcements does it? And the question was about being able to reply to announcements - which was proceeded by comments to the "Announcement".

It's tough being the only sheriff in town...especially when I'd rather be at the saloon ;)
