Hi Entrepreneurs!

There is a special Michael Gerber "In the Dreaming Room" event next weekend (May 25-27) here in San Diego. Join Michael Gerber in his World Class Entrepreneurial Incubator - In the Dreaming Room.

In the Dreaming Room sessions are usually $3000 for 2 1/2 days - however this session is offering "Hot Seats" for $2500, and "Pumpkin on the Vine" seats for $500.

I'll be there - hope to see you there too.

Best,
James

Dear James,

Sorry that I hijack your message to ask you something completely unrelated, however I hope that in this way you receive my question and -hopefully- reply to it. Maybe you want to move my question to a more appropriate place.

If you follow the current discussions in the Community and Off topic boards, there is a fairly high uncertainty and uneasiness about what is happening with Miva Small Business Division at the moment. I think many of us would be very grateful if you could take a moment to clarify some of those questions.

1. Has the Miva Small Business Division been sold? If so, what does it mean to us, it's users?
2. Has the idea of open-sourcing Empresa ever been pursued any further?
3. What is the strategy regarding Miva Design Services, has there been any particular consideration regarding advertising this through the Merchant administration, effectively starting to compete directly with Integrators, designers and partners?
4. Is it true that Miva is actually promoting/selling other shoppings carts through this Design Service (not Merchant)?

Other people will certainly have other questions as well, those are just some that came to my mind this morning. I believe most of us really want to stick with Miva, Miva Merchant and Miva Corp., however when we don't know what is going on or where the company is heading, this simply creates too many questions and a direct dialog would be the easiest and best way to get us lined up behind you to be able to defend and promote Miva Corp. and it's products and services.

Thanks for your time & a good weekend to all of you.

Markus

P.S: To the other community members: You certainly have your own questions to him and maybe he will reply to them as well. However, please let's keep this reasonable and without any personal, unfunded attacks and critism (Sorry Chuck, but this goes especially to you!). The purpose is to understand where the company is heading, not an attempt to change it (after all this is their decision...) or to discuss the merits of alternative shopping cart solutions. Thanks.

I love Michael Gerber. Here are a few of his quotes:

"The five essential entrepreneurial skills for success: Concentration, Discrimination, Organization, Innovation and Communication"

"The greatest business people I've met are determined to get it right no matter what the cost."

"The problem with most failing businesses is not that their owners don’t know enough about finance, marketing, management, and operations -- they don’t, but those things are easy enough to learn -- but that they spend their time and energy defending what they think they know. My experience has shown me that the people who are exceptionally good in business aren’t so because of what they know but because of their insatiable need to know more."
