How can I create my own Items to use on my Miva 5 pages? I have a spiffy category menu system that's created with AllWebMenus Pro. I'd like to create an Item that includes that code and use that on my pages instead of the category_tree item.

Thanks!
Judy

You would just place your code in the page templates in place of the

<mvt:item name="category_tree" />

item.

Thank you, Bruce. I know I can place my own code in the page templates, but I'd really like to be able to create my own items to centralize code maintenance. I can't find any explanation of how to do that anywhere. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Judy

Become a partner, review all the docs, then trial and error on anything that's not spelled out.

Sorry, no need in sugar coating.

i believe this can be done using Latu's Widgets....or, calling an external file...(gilliganonline.com has one *i* think)....or there is another from ADS (check mivacentral)...and we have a very basic one floating around here somewhere...but if you really just want to MODIFY the dynamic category tree's appearance, you need to look at Category Tree modules...rumour has it that William Weiland makes one (www.designextend.com)

Thanks so much, Bruce. :)

I think Latu's Wow Wow Widgets (wow!) sound like a great tool - definitely sounds like the answer to my needs.

I also checked out your Moogle (Google site map generator) and Merchant Optimizer products. SEO is definitely one of my main concerns, so I was glad to learn about them.

Thank you!
