Is there any way to synchronize a product-attribute combination in Miva to a single product code in QuickBooks? For example, we sell each of our beeswax candles in several colors (or scents) as well as several sizes. In Miva, obviously, we want the colors and sizes each to be set up as attribute options. In QuickBooks, however, each Product-Color-Size combination needs to be a distinct item so we can track its inventory levels.

When I read in the sales page that Synchro offered "Customizable Field Mapping" I optimistically assumed that was what was meant, but it seems not. This seems like a function that many people would need, and it would be simple to implement - just establish a convention that Miva composes a product code for QuickBooks that concatenates the product & attribute codes something similar to this:

<miva product code>-<attribute value 1 code>-<attribute value 2 code>

Please let me know if there is a way to synchronize a product attribute combination in Miva to a single product code in QuickBooks. Otherwise, please let me know if this is a feature that Miva will be adding to Synchro in the near future. Or any workarounds you can suggest...

Thanks,
Judy

I'm not sure how Synchro handles this, however the Stone Edge Order Manager was designed with this in mind. Our system allows you to build your product variations (what we call SubSKUs) with the click of a button. A unique SKU combination can be built using the Parent SKU (Miva product code) and the selected option's code. This system can be customized so that you can control which attributes impact inventory tracking.
The Order Manager also integrates with QuickBooks for your accounting needs. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

MIVA Synchro will bring accross any values selected on a cusotmer's order and itemize them on the invoices in QuickBooks. However, it does not connect directly with individual product attributes.

The only workaround I can think of would be to create separate products in MIVA Merchant for each option combination, but this may not be a desirable solution. It would potentially add a lot of products to your store.
