I've had Miva Mia installed on my laptop for 7 years, but last fall things were running badly in general and for some reason I uninstalled it. I was never able to succeed at reinstalling it. I have since upgraded the OS, so it's basically a new environment, and i still can't install Miva Mia 3.97 or 3.94. The machine is the same as it's been, and again, I've had all the versions up to and including 3.97 running on it in the past.
At the same time, version 5.06 installs like a charm.
In particular, the .exe expands into the temp directory, but the InstallShield won't run. Looking at Task Manager, I can see that it's given it a good try, but there is some hump it can't or won't get over.
If anyone has an idea, I could use a hint.

Pentium III 256k memory, 900MB free on the hard drive. Not much, but it worked fine in the past.
