View Full Version : Simple credit card validation and AMEX problems

I have a customer who's site is using this as a payment method and a few customers were having problems completing their order as they get this error:
One or more required fields were not filled out correctly.
Card Number:

I was able to get my test order complete using a dummy card but the owner and a customer still isn't able to do this. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Did you test using a test AMEX number?
3782 8224 6310 005
3400 0000 0000 009

Is AMEX defined correctly?
AMEX prefix: 34 or 37
AMEX Length: 15

Yes both the test numbers and it is defined as 37,34 for prefix and length is set to 15.

Are the people having trouble selecting American Express from the drop down?

If so then then it sounds like they are not entering an AMEX number.

Yes their selecting AMEX from the drop down menu, The owner verified it with their own valid amex card and was unable to get it working. I think they may be missing a digit when typing it in, I will tripple check with them or hopefully be able to get their permission to test their card out.

They have to enter 15 numbers starting with a 34 or 37.

I'll verify the number with them as I took their word for it when they had told me they were trying to use a valid AMEX card but will get customer support to check with them tomorrow.

I found the same problem in mm4 - i omitted any qualifiers for amex....
