Hello,

I just upgraded from Miva4 to Miva5 and imported the store. Now I dont have the previous orders and customers from Miva4. Also of course the numbering of the orders had reset to starting point.

I am a kind of disappointed with Miva support because each email correspondence takes a day and I don't have this time to waste.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Shimon

The only data that can be transferred from MM4 to MM5 is the product, category and customer information. (your host should be able to transfer the existing customer data) There is no way to transfer the existing MM4 orders into MM5.

You can change the starting order number by using Sebenza's Order Number Reset Module (http://www.sebenza.com/products/SS-ORDNUM5.html?a_aid=KSEC).

Hello Dan,

Thank you very much for your help, now I know where I am and what to do. I did not get a response yet from Miva.

Thanks

Unfortunately MIVA's Tech Support is not the best.

Shimon,

Ask your host to change the 'next order number' to something bigger than your last order in the old v4 store so that you do not have 'duplicate' order numbers.

And as far as accessing old orders in your v4 store - since MM5 installs in a new directory, by default you can access both v4 and v5 stores on the same domain. If you renamed your MM5 installation to use the same old directory as your v4 store was using, rename the old v4 store to something that you will know and have access to. If you need to reference an order from the old store, simply log on to the v4 admin system. It's not an ideal scenario but considering the alternatives... that's the best you can do.
