Hello Miva community. I just installed Miva Merchant 5 and find it surprisingly difficult to get easy to use information on building a good looking site.

Will appreciate some feedback on this issue. I want my site to look something like this: www.nauticawatches.com or www.outdoorfurnitureplus.com . I can sit down and write everything from scratch, but I don?t have time for that. Are there any good templates out there to get me on a fast-start to a good looking site. Free is good, but I?ll be happy to buy something that will do the job right.

Any good tutorials that I can use? Suggestions please.

Bottom line - a great looking site takes time and effort.

If you dont have time - either make time or hire someone else to do the work.

There are no shortcuts to good design. Creative use of elements and CSS will go a long way.

I realized that I could not do my site myself. Hiring someone to design my site was the best money I spent! I know that Out Door Furniture was designed by iMarks Design www.imarksweb.com (http://www.imarksweb.com) , who also designed my site.

I just want to point out that it's not an issue of MIVA Merchant when it comes to coming up with a good design. It takes good graphic design (commonly in layered PS or FW files), a knowledge of HTML and CSS. Even with a WYSIWYG editor, no shopping cart is going to be sole tool, nor can it do it all for you.

I recommend you seek out an e-commerce savvy graphic designer, as well as someone who knows both HTML and MIVA Merchant.

There are many "stock" designs out there, but most are duplicated on other sites, and originality is another key.
