Can google checkout be same as payment option

Ok, this might be dumb question.
My understanding is, google checkout works like additional payment like paypal instant payment.

Is it possible, to use google services like merchant account/gateway, without going over google checkout site?

If YES, any example site? and do u recommend at this stage?

Google requires that it handle all the customer information input and completion of the transaction.
