I am planning on using Miva 5 as a drop ship site for my b2b customers. I would like for them to use this site to place orders, but they will also be emailing orders. I was looking for one interface that they could log into so that they could:

1. Track their orders online with account history of all of their past orders.
2. Place an order when they they login, so it "remembers their credit card" information. I have seen other drop ship sites do this.
3. Remember their Biling address, but allow them to change their shipping address, but not make it remember their shipping address. This way when they place their next order, they won't see their last customer's address information.

The bigger problem I foresee is how to address email dropship orders. If they place an order by emailing us the order, how would we enter this order so it appears under their account information so they can track it online?

Unfortunately I'm thinking that Miva may not be the best solution for this problem. Since I am already familiar with Miva, i thought this would be the best solution. If there is a way to customize Miva to perform these requirements, I would be happy to hear them.

Your own staff can handle the emailed orders by using Viking's Phone Order Manager:

The drop-shipping feature may require a custom module, depending on how you want to handle the costs. If you want to discuss custom work, you can drop me a line by private email.

Thanks Kent,

The only thing is that Phone Orders module from Viking Coders doesn't appear to be ready for V5. Am I right?

It would be cool if there was a way of having a "drop ship" shipping method that would work WITH your other shipping method giving 2 shipping methods. Products would then be assigned to this drop ship method and bypass the other method. We have some drop ship items and it's not too friendly just using one shipping method but that's all you can do.
