Hello:

This is my first entry on this forum. I recently started using samr module Fast Data Feed. A couple of days ago Google Base sent me an email saying that my txt file has to be modified to include new required attributes. Looks like I have to add two attributes to get to the full 10 they now require (shows up as headers on the txt file). The two I have to add are brand and condition. Does anyone know how to do that??

I tried, under MIVA utilities, to go to "Store Utility Configuration" then "custom product fields" to add two new product fields that would hopefully translate into attributes on Goole Base. Did not seem to work.

Thanks Debbie Edson

I would suggest contacting the Fast Data Feed module developer to be sure his module will support this change.

He's great with keeping up with the changes and probably has already started working on it.

Google now has a free form list of columns. The fast feed does not do that. You will need the more versatile Template Data Feed (TDF) that lets you add custom columns as needed for your product type. If you got fast feed in the past, you can contact me offlist to get a discount coupon off the Template Data Feed. I'll need your fast feed order number.

TDF creates data feeds (exports) for more than just Google base. Since it is a template system, you can create feeds for any of the shopping portals or other uses. It comes with default formats for some of them. The Template Data Feed is further discussed at
http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00220

The old fast feed module is no longer available due to its fixed column limitation.

Thank you for the information and coupon offer.

I do not install modules myself - I work with someone named Stan who does it for me. I will think about this and get back to you soon.

Best Regards,

Debbie

Thanks again. Just a question - I am interested to know if it works with Ebay. Also, if it does, could I feed only selected MIVA shopping cart categories.

Thanks,

Debbie Edson

What is the format for ebay?

You can include only specific categories. As with the product exclude/include, if you put a + character at the beginning of the list, only products that are in those categories will be exported. For example +ABC|XYZ will only export products in those two categories.
