Hi, All:

Got the Windows Update this weekend. Tried Googl'ing, but alas, probably aren't using the right key terms.

Here's the problems I've encountered since the update (there's probably more...)

IE - I can no longer type URLs in IE - it won't attempt to access anything. Only bookmarks and links will work.

Outlook - I now must open folders and drag/drop files for attachment. If I try to attach via the Outlook Message itself, Outlook stalls and I have to force quit the program.

Sans Windows Bashing, has anyone any insight?

TIA,

Hi Pamela,

Have you tried falling back via system restore?

And thanks for the head's up! My system downloaded the update and I've just procrastinated due to having to turn off all my processes prior to running the install (when I shut down, I've been choosing shut down with install).

No, I'm not prepared to wipe out my system - that would be a bad idea.

No! LOL!

System restore, which is under "accessories" "system tools". You won't lose any data. And you can choose which date to fall back to. The only items you will lose between the date you choose and today would be any programs you've installed. System Restore (unless you've changed the settings) should be taking a snapshot of your system ever day or two. So if you have not installed any programs other than the Window's Update between the date you choose (like a day or two ago) and today, you won't lose a thing. And System Restore does not delete saved data files, so any .doc, .dbx (Outlook e-mails), etc. will not disappear.

I hope I've explained this well. System Restore have saved my fanny a few times from rogue programs :D

That is probably it. I wanted to avoid a restore. Thanks and I'll let you know how it turns out.
