Creation of New Products Catagory on SFNT

I would like to display contents of a catalog "New Releases" on Store Front., within a table. I have very basic knowledge of Miva 5, but I can edit pages.

Any help would be appreciated.

You cant. You would have to create a table with the products you wanted to display.

Perhaps one of the template modules can populate a categories products into the SFNT, but I'm not aware if any of them do.

You could use the Emporium Plus Tool Kit to insert any category's products into an array using the cxpc function. Then display that array with standard template code.

I ended up using Latu's Wow Wow Widgets to display my New Products category on the SFNT page.

I am using latu's wow wow widgets also but do any of you know if I can display the products in two columns instead of just one? I'm trying to make my customers not to scroll too much by displaying them in 2 columns. Thanks!

You could point the storefront to that category and use is as your SFNT page. Use the Category Header and Footer for your storefront page content.

You can use a .htaccess file to point your domain to the category by default. Then you would need to change the Storefront button in your navigation bar, and any other links pointed to your storefront, to point to that category as well.

You will want to contact your host and see if your account is setup to use .htaccess files, and I would recommend having your host put it in place for you. Do not attempt to do this yourself! Messing with .htaccess files can cause serious issues.

It has comments through out so it is pretty easy to follow. It is configured for three columns but can be changed for 2 or 4. And you can just remove any fields that you don't want to display.

Wow , the replies to this post really got way off base - if I understand your question. What you are asking -is - you want to have a table of "new releases" on your storefront/home page.. and display and manage this content dynamically. I think you could make a category called new releases. and call that category display into the table. it seems to me this all you are asking.. and then you can add and remove products from the category.. at will.

You are missing half the conversation here, there was a lot offlist... When I first talked to him, he was trying to call the Category Template Manager into the SFNT screen and display the category, while keeping the custom template formatting for that category intact.

Anyways, I think he was able to get things worked out using the Wow Wow module.

i would recommend "page display" mod.
