Hi buysafe,

On your site it says "Enjoy greater site conversion at no cost during the Preview!", does it mean there is a monthly fee after the trial runs out?

Thank you for question about buySAFE pricing after the buySAFE for MIVA Preview is over. Below is some information I thought would help answer this and other questions we?ve received.

What's the buySAFE for MIVA Preview?
It's an opportunity for you to install buySAFE in your MIVA 5 online store before the official launch. If you?ve signed up for the Preview, soon you will receive an e-mail invitation with instructions on how to install buySAFE in your store. To be eligible for the Preview promotional offer, you must respond to the invitation by installing your module and completing your buySAFE application before the official launch.

What is the Preview promotional offer?
If you sign up for the Preview before 1/22/07 (visit http://preview.buysafe.com/miva/ (http://preview.buysafe.com/miva/)) and follow the instructions in the invitation e-mail you receive, you will receive buySAFE at NO COST until July 2007. This means you will not be required to pay any fees to display the buySAFE Seal on your Website during this period and you will have no obligation to continue with buySAFE after your free period. (Note: Merchants that are not part of the Preview will only be eligible for the standard launch promotional offer, so sign-up today!)

What will buySAFE cost after the free period is over?
After your free period has concluded, you will pay a nominal monthly fee to use the buySAFE Trust Solution to improve conversion rates on your Website. The monthly Seal fee varies based on your average monthly sales, and starts at $9.99/month for merchants who have average monthly sales of $9,999 or less. We will post more information on the buySAFE Seal fee prior to the official launch of the program.

Is buySAFE available for all MIVA merchants?
buySAFE for MIVA is available for MIVA Merchant 5 customers. At the present time, buySAFE is not available for any other versions of the MIVA software.

Is it too late to get in on the buySAFE for MIVA Preview?
No! To sign up for the Preview, simply visit http://preview.buysafe.com/miva/ (http://preview.buysafe.com/miva/) before 1/22/07, and follow the instructions in the e-mail invitation you receive.

Thanks again for the question! Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Thanks.

Hi Buysafe,

First of all, I would like to thank both MIVA and BuySafe for this great deal and partnership.

I was trying to register myself with BuySafe and putting my website URL but the concern is, it does not support more than 49 characters. am I right?

Hello Kanu,

Thanks for the heads up on the character limit. We'll look into expanding that field.

In the meantime, you can send an email to miva@buysafe.com with your store URL, name, contact email, and contact phone number. We'll get you registered for the Preview as soon as we receive your email.

Let us know if you have any more questions!

Hello all,

This is Scott Morton of buySAFE. Thanks for your discussion on buySAFE. I want to clarify a one item that has changed since we first began posting in the MIVA Forums. Regarding the cost of buySAFE, the service is now free. We originally did have a seal fee, but that has been eliminated.

buySAFE is completely free to download and use. In fact, buySAFE pays you, the merchant, every single month when your shoppers bond their transactions with buySAFE.

There is no catch. We make money each time a shopper chooses to guarantee their purchase with a bond from buySAFE. buySAFE keeps a portion of the cost of the bond and we share a portion of that fee with the merchant. It?s that simple.

You can read more the program at http://miva.buysafe.com (http://miva.buysafe.com/).

Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Thanks,
Scott Morton

Hello Armands,

Thanks for the question. As you know, currently buySAFE for MIVA is available for version 5 only.

However, we have a very strong partnership with MIVA and we are committed to providing our solution to all of their merchants, including those on v4. I will post more information about buySAFE for MIVA 4 as soon as I can. Until then, please let me know if I can provide further information about buySAFE for MIVA 5.

Thanks!

From a buyers point of view, how is BuySAFE different from just using a Credit Card. Afterall, most all CC have buyer protection in the form of a chargeback...and that is good for at least 90 days (or longer as we have discovered. CC companies don't seem to really care about how long the charge has been out).
