View Full Version : Shipping SuperMod / Checkout SuperMod Question
Hello everyone, I was looking at the "Address and Shipping SuperBund by Copernicus" (http://www.mivacentral.com/page/m/PROD/CHKOUT-SPR+-x/CBS-BADDRSHIP) because of a strange shipping method I need to set up (ex: one customer ordering two products but each product has to be shipped a different way). It appears that the Shipping SuperMod used in combination with the Checkout SuperMod will do what I want but when I click on the link for the Checkout SuperMod I keep getting sent to a dead page. Does anyone know if the Checkout SuperMod is still available?
I also noticed it says "Please Note - The CheckOut SuperMod significantly alters the checkout process of your store."
Exactly how does it alter the checkout process?
Thanks for any replies.

To my knowledge, the Checkout SuperMod is no longer available by itself.
It is only sold as part of the CBS Address & Shipping SuperBundle (http://tinyurl.com/yhzrb6).
It alters the checkout process in that it allows the customer to split the OSEL screen into individual lines, that can have different shipping and different ship to addresses added.
Thanks Vic.
Is there any other way of doing what I'm looking for?
Ex: Have one customer that orders two products and each product must be shipped via a different carrier?

Hi. I just purchasedthe Superbund and installed it yesterday. You can run through the checkout process of my store to see what the 3 mods look like when used (Address, Checkout and Shipping Mods).

Hope this helps!

Although the Shipping Supermod is necessary (in my opinion) it doesn't work when two orders come in at nearly the same time. There is a huge bug.

yikes! that's not the best news I've had all day! This is likely to happen to us as we have a very high order volume during the holidays. I'll report back to this thread with feedback on this bug...
I had another question for anyone familiar with the Shipping SuperMod by itself. I?m trying to avoid having to buy the expensive SuperBund package.
Will the Shipping SuperMod alone allow me to do the following?
Have one product (A) that uses my existing UPS & USPS modules (online rate calculation modules that come with Miva) and then have a second product (B) that has free shipping.
If a customer purchases product (A) then it will use my modules as normal.
If a customer purchases product (B) then they will only have the free shipping option.
If a customer purchases product (A) and product (B) then they can decide on if they want USPS or UPS and the product (B) will not cause any type of conflict because it is a free ship item.
Can the Shipping SuperMod by itself WITHOUT the Checkout SuperMod let me set up my products to work as described above?
Thanks.

All of those scenarios can be done with the Shipping SuperMod (http://tinyurl.com/qzkn6) alone. However, it will take careful reading of the docs to learn how to setup what they call the Least Common Denominator method when 2 products have different methods assigned.

Thanks Vic, but my concern is the following that is noted in the Shipping SuperMod:If you use the Shipping SuperMod and a customer tries to purchase products that cannot all be shipped with the same method, no shipping methods will be available to the customer at checkout because your shipping rules are mutually exclusive and MIVA Merchant on its own does not allow multiple shipping calculations in the same order.
If a customer orders my product (A) that has either USPS or UPS and product (B) that is free shipping; is this considered "...products that cannot all be shipped with the same method"?
I also just came across this "Product Based Free Shipping" (http://www.mivacentral.com/page/m/PROD/CHKOUT-SHIP/SS-FREESHIP). Would this work for setting one product as Free Shipping, and then if a someone orders both product (A) and product (B), the free shipping product would not interfere with the shipping caculation for product (A) and product (B) could just be sent for free?

Read the modules documentation, specifically the Least Common Denominator option.
If you select product A to have UPS, USPS & Free shipping, and Product B with ONLY free shipping, the only shipping option that will be offered is Free Shipping, since that is the least common denominator.

This bug only exists in Miva5 and has been patched.

Can anyone suggest an export mod that works with the Address/Checkout Supermod, separating each "Ship to" address as a different line item?
The copernicus website lists an Import/Export Supermod but the page refers us to the mivacentral website which does not list the Import/Export supermod as an option.
Regarding the Address/Checkout Supermod, I notice that when exporting the data using the UltraBatch product, the orders listed in the Excel file do not include any of the attribute or additonal shipping address info.
For example, an order with 2 products shipped to 2 different addresses, only appears as one line item and one shipping address.
The only way I can see to access the additional shipping information is to manually look up each order and edit the excel file to split the 1 order into 2 line items.

Copernicus Business Systems is owned by MIVA Corp, has been for a few years now.
All the CBS Software that is still being sold is sold through MIVA. The Import/Export SuperMod wouldnt help you in this situation. It simply exported and imported any of the databases into a flat txt file.
You could probably use Truxoft's UltraBatch to create a custom batch report that would include the additional address information from the Copernicus Address SuperMod's databases.

Well, I contacted Truxoft but they sent me back to the module developer. Other than this, I dont' really understand what they're recommending!
Ultra Batch exports all native Mia Merchant data. If you need to export data collected by 3rd party modules, you have to specify what exactly you want do display/export. There is no way Ultra Batch could know what 3rd party modules you use, what their data format is, and where the data belong, unless the developer writes an interface putting the data in the proper places, or uses standard fields. In Ultra Batch configuration, data of 3rd party modules can be added with the use of Miva Script or OpenTokens to the header, footer or product line, but I cannot tell you the exact syntax - only the developer of the module knows it. You may find OpenTokens code it in their documentation, or may ask ther support.
Once you add the proper code into the header or footer (or product line user-def filed) in Ultra Batch configuration, the data will be then visible in the last column (user-def) of the export file. UB configuration screen is accessible by clicking the first of the five buttons at the right top (the one left to the "?" button).
