I hope someone can help me! I have to set up my Miva 5 store to collect California sales tax. From what I understand there is a state taxe, county taqx, and a city tax.
How am I suppose to set this up in my store? Ahyone got any ideas?

First you will want to verify if you indead need to charge all three tax rates. (depends on your location) Then you will go into your store, click on the State Based Sales Tax, click on Add Rate and select California from the dropdown menu. Then you would put the total sales tax percentage you need to optain. (if you need to collect state, county and city tax, add all tree of those percentages together and enter it in the field)

The State of California has pretty straightforward sales tax laws. You collect only one tax and it's based on the physical location of your business - ie: the county you are located in. If your local tax rate is 7.75%, that's what you charge on any orders shipped within the State of California (and 0% for deliveries outside of California). If your local country sales tax rate is 8.25%, that's what you charge. There's no one universal rate and you do not charge 3 separate taxes.
