Hi All,

Nice forum. I am having some trouble with a Miva 5 site I am administrating and I am hoping that someone can provide me some insight on resolving the issue I have which seems to be a combination of problem.

Problem 1
We were looking for a better search module and installed the Latu Search Module however we found that this would not search any of the custom product fields we had already defined in the system. So we uninstalled it from all of the pages in the store and the folks at Latu graciously refunded our purchase. However, when we try to install the module from the server, the Latu Search module still says that it is attached to our store. I can't find any reference to the module on any pages or anywhere else in the store.

Problem2
Finding that the Emporium Power Search module would do just what we needed we have installed that and it seemed to work (sort of). It was displaying most of the correct results in a search for one of the custom product fields but several items were not showing up. Reconfiguring the module did not seem to be changing the behavior so I uninstalled the module figuring on reinstalling it and hoping that would change the behaviour. Unfortunately, Miva let me uninstall the module with it still being attached to our PROD page. Now when I try to unattach that module from the page I am getting the following error:

MER-TUI-MGR-00010 - Component module '114' not found

When I try to edit the powrsrch module from the master item list for the store I get this error:

MER-ADM-00001 - Unknown error - Page ITME

We have tried packing the databases and then tried removing it from the page but we seem to be getting nowhere with the process and we basically get the same error. Does anyone have any tips on resolving these module problems?

I have heard mention of a process to get rid of the dead modules but have yet to find any instructions.

You discovered the show stopper bug in MM5. You have to unassign module's in reverse order if they have component features (items on a page template). Try going to admin:store:pages:items and find the powrsrch item. If the second column is blank you are seeing the fallout of an improper unassignment. Try clicking the 1st edit button (the one on the left) and locate power search in the drop down selection. Assign it. It won't be there if you already removed the module from the domain so you would need to reinstall it.

Bill, you are a Miva God! Your fix worked great, the key was clicking on the leftmost button, which did allow me to add it back in.

I was also able to get the Latu module uninstalled by marking it active in my modules, then reinstalling and making it active in the store.

I then deactivated it and removed from the store.
I was then able to delete it from the modules for the installation.

I'd sure like to see this bug fixed before Miva Corp spends time making modules to replace 3rd party modules. This has been a long time show stopper that results in endless hours of troubleshooting.

This is a total pain of a bug! I have run into it quite a few times with client sites.
