Okay, there is no OPENUI support.... so in case if there is a problem, there is no one to go to. All the modules depends on it. What is the future? Is there going to be a future?
Spent any more money on modules?? or start saving for something else?
Thanks for your comment!!

Help for OpenUI is right here on this forum by volunteers ;)
As long as some important modules don't appear in v5 I can't/wouldn't switch my clients.
v4 is stable and OpenUI hasn't any major issues which could cause problems.
my two cents ,,,

I think MM4.24 w/OpenUI is still the best solution for most stores that do not have a specific need for MySQL.
Many more modules available, extremely stable, as are all the third party modules.

I have a license number, it was from 2003. I am having problem with the number. It keep saying it is not vaild and this is license number that came from Darren directly "PRINTED". I have written to Openui support and mentioned to my hosting company. There is nothing else I can do:(
We all invest so much in this. Just such a shame that this might go away? I am starting to get vey worried.
The store is missing Openui license, its screen is taking over the standard miva screen. I can't even get to the modules that uses just miva.

But if OPENUI stops or have no support, a lot of the modules will stop working. right?
While it may seem that there is an end-of-road regarding features/enhancements to OpenUI, it isn't end of life. The last (few) versions are very stable. I believe the OpenUI Consortium would not have ended development if it weren't.
Minus -- no full time support on this forum or the OpenUI forum. But, the author does answer questions there on the OpenUI forum.
Plus' -- volunteer support here on this forum, as Andrea mentioned.
--The most important -- Host support -- by at least a handful of capable hosts.
--3rd party module support -- development is still going on, both canned modules and custom modules. I am still coming up with NEW ideas and creating and converting custom apps/modules for general sale. There are others doing the same, Kent Multer is another developer I know of.
Another reason, Miva is still selling licenses for use in Merchant 4+. IMO, 2 good reasons for that, 1 -- it creates revenue even though development has virtually ended. And 2, squelching/squashing availability of version 4 will kill Miva Small Business. I other words, trying to force only MM5 without the same level of 3rd party support MM4 has might be a Katrina type disaster to the San Diego offices.
FWIW,
Scott

You never mentioned what version of MIVA Merchant you are running or your OpenUI Version.
And have you tried posting to the OpenUI User Forum at openui.org?
Depending on your host, they may be able to help as well.
Keep in mind, businesses fail, evolve, cease, etc. Due to the dead end OpenUI met with the roll out of MM5, I cannot say that I blame the author for moving on. After all, he too has a family to feed.
That does not however, mean OpenUI or the third party modules that rely on it are dead. Far from it. Its just a little more difficult to get help with.

So, was OpenUI working, then it stopped? Or, did you install OpenUI and get the error? If you installed it and got the error, was the license used in another domain previously, or is this the first use of the license? Where did you get the license, from OpenUI, from MivaCentral, from DesignExtend, or from your host? Try contacting whomever you bought it from if this is your first time using it.
