deactivating payment module

I've just changed payment modules and when I try to deactivate the old one I get this error "Module is in use by one or more orders and cannot be removed"
How do i deactivate it?

You dont want to remove it. You want to deactivate it.

This has been discussed a few times on the forums.

Find the payment module you wish to deactivate under the link for Modules.

Once you find it, click on it and uncheck the box for Active, then update.
