Deleting dbf's or dbt's

Greetings - We have an issue with an item having two product ID's in the database. This causes it to create inaccurate counts of sales for us for that product... so... we are considering deleting the orderitems.dbf....
The question is, will it regenerate itself fresh on the next sale (and hopefully no longer registering both product id's.. OR, do we need to just clear the file content, and upload it empty (is this making sense?:rolleyes: )
Since we have NO idea why this product came about getting two product id's, is there somewhere else that we should be dealing with this issue?

No it will not, and in fact will render your store inoperable.

You need to either use a compatible dbf editor to remove the duplicate record, or hire someone who offers database editing as a service to remove it for you.

I would not recommend doing this yourself if you are not 100% comfortable and familiar with the databases.
