Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to add text to a "buy it now" product page. Here's the problem I'm having:
I'm trying to use Miva to get customer to fill out a registration form so I've created a product using product attributes that is in essence just a form that the customer fills out. Then the customer has to add the product. The confusion begins here. After adding the product to the shopping basket, the customer must then click on checkout. Customers don't notice that the product has been added to their basket and are wondering why nothing has happened after they've added the product. That's why I want to link to the form directly with the "buy it now" link. If I link directly to the "buy it now" page then the customer fills out the attribute fields and is prompted to click continue, which takes them to the check out page directly and is much less confusing. However, I'd like to add a bit of an explainer or brief product description and I'm not sure how to do that, or if that is even possible. I notice that text in the product description, product header or product footer, does not show up on the "buy it now" page. Any ideas on how I can make this a bit clearer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the help,
Neffie

Can you please post a URL to the page you are talking about?

I'm confused as to whether or not you are talking about a category page or a product page.

Sorry about that. I'm talking about individual product pages.
Here's the link to a product page:
http://www.videoranch.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=V&Product_Code=VR3D-Reg (http://www.videoranch.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=V&Product_Code=VR3D-Reg)

and here's a link to the "buy it now" page for that same product:
http://www.videoranch.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=OINF&Store_Code=V&Action=ADPR&Product_Code=VR3D-Reg&Attributes=Yes&Quantity=1 (http://www.videoranch.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=OINF&Store_Code=V&Action=ADPR&Product_Code=VR3D-Reg&Attributes=Yes&Quantity=1)

Thanks,
Neffie

The simple way to do this is to add Advanz Design's Go To Basket/Continue Shopping module (http://tinyurl.com/y7tnaq) which will take the customer to the BASK screen after adding a product rather than leave them on the product page and increment the counter for Quantity in Basket.

I'd also strongly suggest upgrading to MM 4.24 and updating your very old OpenUI version.

Neffie, what other modules are you running? The Buy It Now is simply an ADD Product page whereas they need to complete the missing attributes page.

Realize that BUY IT NOW takes them immediately to checkout (which means you're basically asking them not to buy anything else).

Vic's recommendation to just send them to basket where they can then checkout (or keep shopping if they wish) is more ideal.

You may already be running a module that does this, though, such as Product Page Templates (http://www.designextend.com/page/miva/PROD/BROK_PRODTEMPLATES), which gives the ability to do this, plus much more (like customizing the layout of all those attributes).
