Yes, we would like to participate in your Google Checkout test. We'd also be interested in purchasing a Google checkout module integrated with Merchant.

Hey, how is it going with Google Checkout? I'm curious to hear from our intrepit beta testers whether they like having Google Checkout as an option.
thanks,

Im not a beta tester... but all seems to be going well. Most users had Google Checkout orders within hours of installing it.

Great! Glad to hear it. Can this be used as a store's only checkout solution, maintaining the store's look and feel, or does it flip you into a Google environment (you can see I know nothing about the module).
thanks,

This should give you the info you need: http://www.sebenza.com/go/92683

Its an alternative checkout process... and becoming very popular.

How does order fulfillment and shipping/tracking work with this? I have read that Google requires you to keep the customer updated about the order via the Google system, and not via your usual store channels. How much extra work is it to handle a Google Checkout order? Can anyone describe the steps?
(I'm a Miva 5 store manager, so we're waiting for Miva 5 availability)
thanks,

How does order fulfillment and shipping/tracking work with this?

Fairly easy. There is a tab under utilities for google checkout. From there you can mark an order as shipped, enter the tracking number, archive the order, etc. All of these functions can also be done from the google admin function in your google account.

Hello, I just installed the module and waiting for my Host to get back to me. It said, STOP: MIVA Empressa 5.04 or later required. Please contact your host.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone has had any issues with this? Have you generated any sales using Google?

Thank you.

And Happy Holidays

We have received some orders. Currently, we give the shopper the option of using our standard checkout or Google checkout. Probably about 1 in 5 select google checkout. Other than repeat customers, who already have an existing account, I would have expected more to select the google checkout.

One problem with the google checkout is that you loose the upsell function. I have thought of adding the upsell function to the BASK page so it is still available to the google checkout users, but have yet to figure out how to do this.

The Emporiumplus coupon module seems to integrate nicely...

Thank you for that info. So the emporium one is the one i downloaded from Google? I stopepd once i saw the Empressa warning, so i didnt look at it real well. We use the netpush coupon module, so I hope that integrates into it..

As for upsale, we have had that off as of late, yet was going to bring it back. Sounds like i cant do that now. Yet, we use the upsale template from Sebenza, so perhaps that will make a difference.

Ive been wanting to get an alternitive ordering system up for awhile. Almost had paypal setup, but this seems to be a better option. What ya think?

Anyways thanks for the info , i appreciate it.

I think the emporiumplus coupon module is the only one that currently works. Check with Sebenza or your coupon module developer to see if it is going to be supported. I heard something about Viking coupon support coming.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your empressa engine. Once you do that, but module should work. We like it! And, December transactions are being done without a fee. You can't beat that. If you use Google adwords advertising, they offset the checkout fee against your advertising which should lead to lower processing costs.

No upsell is a bummer...

The coupon module is not available from Google. It is available from Emporium Plus, Mivacentral, Design Extend, and Santafemall. If you already have the older version, you can get the update from the same store you got the original. It is a no cost update if you already have the 4.14-4.24 version.

Thanks Bill. I dont see the Netpush one in your list. i just checked and there is no update for the netpush other than what i have. I wonder if this will work or not. Still need to get bank verified , so im not sure if i can test or not at this point.

Thanks

I only have the modue that I wrote. There is a lot of coding to interface a module with google checkout so an old version you have would not have the new, required code in it. You'll need to get netpush to update their module or switch coupon modules if you want to offer coupons in google checkout.

Thank you Bill. I just wrote Netpush asking if there will be a fix to version 1.2 to allow this. Hopefully i will hear back from them.

If not, ill have to buy a new coupon module that will work with it as my store has many active coupons.

Just got the green light to begin Google Checkout. i was wondering, how are you advertising it as an alternitive option to buy. You just slapping the button on the BASK page, or are you adding some info about it there, or other places to make people aware of it.

Also, i havent heard anything back from netpush on updating there coupon module, not surprised though, they have never written back before, why start now.

Anyways, of the people that are using Google checkout, what coupon module will plug in and work right away. ive looked at Bill's and others, just trying to formulate an opinion as i need to get a new coupon module right now.

Thanks

We give people the option to use Google checkout or our standard checkout on the BASK page. We are in the process of forcing the checkout link through the BASK page (which is not done yet). You can see it at our site:
www.Lmine.com (http://www.Lmine.com)

We have the emporiumplus coupon module, which seems to integrate well. I don't think any of the other coupon modules have been updated yet.

Thank you Mark..I will check it out. Question, does Miva still handle all the order emails to the customers as always set, or do you have to setup the email section at google.

How do i show the google option to check out if they click on "check out" in my basket display in right coulmn. Right now when clicked it bypasses the basket screen,,therefore no google checkout option.

Only chance as of now to use google is thru initial basket screen, or redirect from product adds....

Ok added at login..yet still not exactly working as id like. If you have things in your cart and you click on the checkout button in my tiny cart, it bypasses the Google checkout option and takes you straight to the OINF screen.

is there anyway to correct this?

Thank you for the info. Yet, I suppose when they click on checkout, it would be odd to go back to the basket screen. Looks like they will miss the google checkout method if they use the checkout button in tiny cart.

anyways, question

Just tried a test order, via google...all went well except i didnt see any place to enter a store coupon. Do I need to make these in google, even though i now have the Emporiumplus redemtion coupon module?

You can also add the google checkout link to the LOGN page if you want to see the google checkout icon from that screen.

Are you sure you have the latest version of the emporiumplus coupon module that supports the google checkout?

Yes..Just got it the other day from emporium. It all works right...No issues, the coupon carries thru with no issues.

The only thing now is the Gift certificate redemption module from Viking and its incompatability with google checkout. i did write Viking about it, and they said they would look into it next year.

I wanted to install Google Checkout at my MM4 site, MM: v4.24 / MVM: v4.1400, but it gave this error:

Runtime error in 4.24/admin.mvc @ [0000000a:000000d8]: admin.mv: Line 2269: MvDO: Unable to open '/Merchant2/4.24/MIVA_FUP00000001': File was generated by an incompatible version of the Miva Script Compiler

What does that mean??

My Dino friends at Hostasaurus helped me with this - I just needed a Miva Empresa upgrade, which they did within minutes. Asked the question, got the solution, with the server upgrade, within 15 minutes. Sweet support!! What would I do without my Dino friends??

Empresa v5.06 is required for Google Checkout.

The error you are getting is a standard warning when the Engine running is lower than the minimum required to execute the script.
