Hello, I am the current webmaster for anythingformycell.com and I am in need of some simple assistance: We are currently updating our database and are in need of a way to create a more personalized website design. We have currently over 3800 products and this will continue to grow to around 7000 or more.
We need a module that will: inable the customer to select their phone model from a drop-down list, by search, and/or by manufacturer of over 300-500 phones (the exact amount in unknown currently). Once at their personilzed phone page they have the ability to see all products we carry (whether it by all or by category: face plates, chargers, bluetooth, etc.). I do realize that it would be much more simplistic to buy a search module (currently using Version 5) and customers can find produts suitable for them through that medium. But this doesn't make things easier for the customer to find everything they need just for their phone.
The main problem is the majority of our products can be used on 1-50 other phones so how it is currently under production "item a" for example a charger can be used on models: Nokia: 3390, 3395, 3320, 3360, 3361 Motorola: T193 Samsung: N300 (which we created a customized field to even show this) I am not sure if you can have the same produt show up under multiple categories if you can please instruct THIS WOULD BE VERY VERY HELPFUL!! (i.e. manufacturer, category: ex. face plate) So, until then, we are stuck with either the decision to install a power search module and have all products under their respected general category (which is ok but not great) or have the ability to show products under multiple categories and have products for each phone model listed. The other problem is I don't know if you can have a category for manufacturers/phones and just have description of phone and picture without option to buy it and have related products for that particular phone?
