Missing Required Shipping Information

Hello everyone,

I would like to require shipping, but calculate $0 for shipping costs for a "membership" product where there's nothing to ship. I thought I could simply enter 0 weight for the product, but that causes the following error message:

" Unable to authorize payment: Missing Required Shipping Information"

I'm using the built in UPS module. Is there any way that I can still require shipping in the store, but NOT calculate shipping for specific products?

You cannot use a weight of 0 when you are using a real time shipping service.

All the services that allow real time rate lookups (FedEx, UPS, USPS) do so by weight and zip code. So without one or both, you are out of luck.

Assign weights to your products if you plan to use these services, or setup a price based or flat rate shipping table.

Thanks for the reply Vic! I found a module through another thread, available through Emporium Plus, that offers a solution to my delima. It's their "SORT SHIPPING PLUS FREE SHIPPING OPTION" module. I'll be installing it today. It's supposed to work with the UPS module, and should allow me to assign free shipping to products based on a minimum weight.
