make attributes inactive

is there anyway in mm5 to make certain attributes of a product inactive? for example, we have the attribute options of red, yellow, and green. i want to take green off the list temporarily without actually removing it from the system. it seems like there should be a way to make it inactive, like you can do at the product level.

No, you either have them or remove them on a product.

You could however, use Viking Coders Inventory Manager v5 module (http://tinyurl.com/zwky8), and have the attributes flag when out of stock.
