Could someone tell me what are the guidelines, or perhaps a ball park figure for a good bounce rate for a particular page? What is an unacceptable bounce rate?
I know that in the perfect world every visitor coming to a page would stay and click around, but in reality it doesn't happen. Please share your thoughts on this.

Thanks

Any rule of thumb would be meaningless to your situation specifically. Rather, test, monitor and adjust for your site. Note the current rate, gather some test subjects, have them come to page under various senerios, debrief their reactions, make changes...see if it effects the "bounce rate" (by which I assume you mean he inverse of "click through" rate).

Bounce rate is how many people immediately exited your site after landing there.
Thanks for the feedback. I was expecting something along those lines as well.

I remember when I was doing my investigation into site analytics a number of about 30%-35% for bounce rate. I don't recall if that was either a fairly common average among sites, or the max rate considered acceptable.
