mod_rewrite for Miva Mia?

I am using mod_rewrite on a MM4 site so we can create short search friendly URLS in the form /ctgy/... and /prod/... and it works very well.

However, I test on Miva Mia, but it runs on Windows and has its own web server. Is there any way I can setup Mia so it recognizes these shortened URLs.
