Hello,
I am working on a project and wanted to know if there have been any incompatibility issues with OpenUI and the MIVA Engine 5.03 or 5.0 in general????
At this time client, is not looking to upgrade to 5.0 or change hosts ( currently at hostmysite.com) so that is not an option.
Client is looking to make design changes ( like 2 columns, etc.)
Thanks
Steve

5.03 and 5.06 are okay, any other 5.x should be avoided for either compatibility or performance issues.

This site is hosted on windows, should I consider the Dynamic Templates by Copernicus instead.

You should consider this:
Do you need MM5? Are all the features, modules, etc available for MM5 that you will need?
Does the host you are going to chose specialize in MIVA Merchant hosting and do they offer MM5 with MySQL backend? If they dont, keep looking.
Unfortunately, I would suggest avoiding the Dynamic Templates since MIVA sells them, but does not offer any support for them after installation.
OpenUI and Viking's Template modules are a much easier to use solution.
And frankly, I wouldnt host e-commerce on Windows. The OS is full of memory leaks and often the target of hackers. Linux is MUCH more stable.

Vic,
I agree with all of your suggestions, and if it was up to me mm5 would be the way to go. But I am working with what I have.
I just want to minimize server load yet still give the client everything they need.
