View Full Version : Importing Flat Files - no option available ?

I want to import some flat files to Miva 4.12. However, when I go to "Utilities", the only option is "Pack Data Files" - there are no Import or Export options. I also have another customer with Miva (4.23) and it's the same. Is there something that needs to be done to make the Import options available ? I do see the option under "Modules" and it shows as "active" (?) but it's not available for use.

Some hosting companies restrict your access to these utilities.

I'd contact them and ask why you dont have them available.

Better yet, move to another host that does not restrict your ability to use the product.

Unfortunately, my customers often choose hosting long before they talk to me.

Why would the features like "import" show under "modules" as active yet be unavailable ?

Nevermind.... I was looking at the "top" level under utilities... you have to drill down into the store level utilities to get to the feature.

Like who? I've yet to see a host that's restricted the Admin access to import/export utilities.

I'm not going to namedrop, but I've seen a very large, recently purchased by another host, hosting company that actually removed the export utilities.

I've seen 2 others that have provisioned out the import/export ability of customers as well.

They've been aware for at least 3 years that I know of.
