I have seen similar posts to this but they did not seem to fit the circumstances here. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

We have a small graphic design company and contracted out the Miva portion of the site our client has been using for 7 months with no problems. I just received a message that a duplicate order is being used from several months ago when the site was originally set up. Duplicate number 1000s current numbers 1200s.
The new order was actually a combination of the items the customer was trying to purchase as well as the items and shipping charges from the original order.

This was on an order placed today and paid by credit card? Any thoughts? I am somewhat of a Miva novice and wonder what I should be checking for to uncover the problem. Delete Shopping Baskets? Baskets Expired? Thanks in advance.

Have you been packing your store data and domain data files regularly?

Delete your expired baskets (without recovering order numbers) and then pack both the store and domain files.

You'll likely get an error that you have a duplicate record in your orders database. If you do, you'll need to correct this by either deleting the offending order, using a compatible dbf editor and delete the duplicated record, or hire someone to do this for you.

Once done, you'll need to pack again. There may be other duplicated records and or corrupted databases.

We do offer database repair services.
