Select Store: What happens?

I am in the process of designing my Miva 5 store (upgraded from Miva 4).
I will have 2 stores in 1 mall (one for Canadian customers and one for U.S. customers). Right now I am just working on the Canadian store and haven't added the additional licence for 5 yet.

I see that Miva 5 has a new "select store" option in the navigation bar. Can anyone tells me what happens when a user clicks the "select store" button on the nav bar?

I am making some design decisions right now and I want to factor this in, but since I don't have the second store license yet so I can't test it. How is the choice made (drop down, new window, etc.?)

Hi Linda, all versions of Merchant have a select store by default once more than one storefront is added, but most people remove it so you've probably already gotten rid of it in the version 4 store. You can do the same in version 5 by editing the navigation bar to remove that from the templates. Basically select store just gives you an ugly screen with the name of each storefront and a link to that storefront.

Ahh.. so it's just another screen hat comes up. Funny it isn't listed in the pages section. I guess it doesn't appear until you add the second store. Or is it not editable at all?

Nevertheless, it sounds like I'd be better off to create my own links to the stores in my header.

Right, it won't appear unless you have more than one store.
