Quick Books 2006

Does anyone know if you CAN make the current version of Synchro work with 2006? If so how?

If not, does anyone know when Miva is going to write an update for Synchro that will work with 2006?

If not, does anyone know of anyone that would do some custom scripting to make it work now?

Our Development team is looking at MIVA Synchro with QuickBooks 2006 right now. I'll try to get more info on the status of that a little bit later today and post it here.

Ok, I got word back from Development. From initial testing, it looks like it will work without any changes to be made to MIVA Synchro. However, for us to officially state that MIVA Synchro supports QuickBooks 2006, it will need to go through our full QA process.

So at this time, I can't officially say that it will work with 2006, but all indications point to there not being an issue.

Okay, i have heard other such rummors like that, but if they want to get it to work and are having issues, who can they call that can truly help them get it up and going? Is there some developer that has experience with 2006 and can answer questions and trouble shoot issues easily, like an engineer or something?

Well, since it's not officially supported on 2006, we won't be able to provide assistance. You could always try these forums and I'll answer what I can. But as for experience with 2006, I'm not sure who. I know Intuit has forums taht you may want to check out.

Okay so what is the time line for Q and A on 2006...two months, six months, a year, what? My client need to know whether to play the waiting game or get a refund.

It's really hard to say. There are several other projects that are ahead of it at the moment.

It's almost 5 months into 2006 and you haven't even prioritized making sure Synchro works with QuickBooks 2006?! We bought Synchro with no knowledge that it didn't necessarily work with the current version of QuickBooks and we're re-designing our shipping operations on the assumption that is does. What the heck?!

Have you tried to see if it works with 2006 yet...i cannot determine if my client is having server issues, or if this is truly a 2006 issue...can you let me know?

I'm sorry, I was so pi**ed off I neglected to contribute useful information... So far in my limited testing everything is working fine. Please see my post from yesterday, http://extranet.miva.com/forums/showthread.php?t=793, about product attributes & inventory - this is a serious limitation if you're using product attributes in miva and trying to track your inventory in QB. It looks like Synchro won't work for us.

I also have several customers waiting for Miva to prioritize this. No one wants to be the guinea pig with their data. Can you blame them. How about someone at Miva testing it rather than waiting for one of us to lose customers over it. In the long run, Miva also loses. Release some docs as beta...give us something.
