Brand / Manufacturer

I am looking for an easier way to assign a brand or manufacturer to a product that you can click on and the products will show up. I know the common answer is to just make a new category and assign those products to that category, but when you have 20 brands and categories already it can get tedious.

Is there a way to do a custom field and use a conditional from Bill's toolkit, or has anyone else come up with a clever way? Thanks.

I am not sure if there is a way with the tool kit; however, you assign the categories by flat file. Separate the categories with a comma, and no space.

Thanks for the response Candy. It still leaves me using actualy categories to do the brands though, which I want to get away from.

You can also create a customized field, which you can populate with a flat file. I did both, brand categories AND a brand customized field, on www.BestFriendsGeneralStore.com (http://www.BestFriendsGeneralStore.com).
