I have 4 categories that I have built into the global nav, they will be linked to the appropriate category page when you click on them (men's, women's, bath, baby) they each have separate sub categories, that should show up on the left side nav. I want to be able to only display the subcats for that main category when someone clicks on it.
Someone suggested in a similar post "It sounds like you want to use the subcategory navigation instead of the tree when a category code has been selected. You can do that. You would replace the normal tree with the code used for the subcategory navigation. The only time the parents would display is when g.Category_Code is blank in the url or not in the url at all."
But I have three questions I am really hoping someone can help me with:
1. do I need a category tree template 3rd party module to do this?
2. where would I "replace the normal tree with the code used for the subcategory navigation"?
3. where do I find the code for the subnavigation. I don't see anything like listed in the items area?
thank you for anyhelp, I have read everything I can on this and still don't understand.
