Hello!

I am new at this and this is my first post. I need to make the following happen and I do not know how to integrate this into the MivaMerchant5 interface and my website.

Here goes:

I need a mandatory login requirement for one of the stores for my site. I need customized fields to collect data from customers registering. In speaking with MM customer service, they suggested I speak with a developer to accomplish this. So, what I am trying to do is integrate the login and the create new account system with a form created on my website. There are additional fields on the form on my site that will collect information needed and the problem is we do not want the customer to have to complete 2 separate lenghty forms, one on my website and one logging in and creating a new account with the MM storefront. The goal is to have the customer create an account, create a password, with one registration process which will collect all the data I need while directing them to the MM storefront. If you need additional information I'm happy to give all the details. The site is not posted yet, but I can forward the html pages for review ...

What is the next step? thanks for any guidance you can give!

Is your MM5 store using the mivasql database API or MySQL?

You can find this information along with your Merchant version in the upper left corner of the right hand frame when you first log into Merchant's admin.

thanks Vic, here is the info you requested:

Ah, too bad. If you were using MySQL for the back end it would be very simple to do via a PHP login screen.

And Engine v5.04 is known to cause mivasql stores to run MUCH slower than they should.

But...there is hope. You can use a combination of Sebenza's Force Login v5 Module (http://tinyurl.com/mzefe) and Weiland's Addendum v5 Module (http://tinyurl.com/gqzfz) to accomplish what you want.

Thanks Vic, I looked at the software and it does appear that it will do exactly what I need it to. Got some questions:

1. Is support available? Is it user friendly?
2. Would you recommend a developer install since I am somewhat of a novice to this?
3. May I contact you again if I have any questions?
4. Is having v5.04 a major drawback as we increase the size of the store?
5. Will I be able to use this software for other store applications?

Thanks once again for your response and valuable assistance !

All the best
Vee-

Thanks Vic, I looked at the software and it does appear that it will do exactly what I need it to. Got some questions:

1. Is support available? Is it user friendly?

Yes, and no. Yes, support is available. Sort of, its not real friendly as you will need to read the docs, configure the module, and paste your HTML table for your addtional questions into the module.

2. Would you recommend a developer install since I am somewhat of a novice to this?

If you are not comfortable doing this install, yes. We also offer this service.

3. May I contact you again if I have any questions?

Feel free to contact us offline through the email address in my signature line. We are available for hire.

4. Is having v5.04 a major drawback as we increase the size of the store?

Having v5.04 is a major drawback when you're running mivasql, regardless of the store size. A good host would roll you back to v5.03.

5. Will I be able to use this software for other store applications?

What do you mean other store appllications? If you mean will it work in conjunction with other modules, yes.
