The announement within the Subscribe2 admin says:

Upgrade to Subscribe2 Pro in August for only $74.95 ( normal upgrade price $149.95 ).

When you click on the link it takes you to the upgrade page which has a different price:

Upgrade to Subscribe2 PRO - Multiple Opt In Mailing List Manager for 99.95

Very confusing. :confused:

Just as well. Scot's Mailing List (http://www.jmhonline.net/miva-modules/mailing+list) is head and shoulders above Subscribe2.

I wouldnt bother spending money on software which has already been announced was "end of life" and will not be supported.

Especially when there are better products out there that will continue to be supported.

Does this module have the "checkbox" feature like Subscribe has? I didn't see a mention of it in the slideshow.

In v4 with just mmui or openui, it appears on the invc screen. With other page templates, you can put it anywhere. In mm5, you can put it anywhere.

I'm feeling a little (a lot) dense - does a checkbox appear on the final invoice screen? Or a link to the newsletter signup. I'm trying to figure out how the checkbox would work after the transaction is complete...:confused:

Yes, it (checkbox) appears on the invoice screen.

Don't remember clearly. Either on top or bottom of invoice and it pulls order information for the customer, so they don't have to enter anything. I always make it actually part of checkout, so that is why I don't remember.
