I am trying to accomodate my clients new shipping method for International orders. He has just recently switched shipping to DHL Worldwide. I only found a module for DHL Domestic, not international.

If I get the tables with the ship rates, is there a way to build a set of custom shipping instructions for international orders? One table gives you a letter (based on Country) which is then used to find the rate column on the second table (based on package weight).

Since there is not a DHL International mod available I was curious if I can build something with those 2 tables.

I would also like to keep my current shipping setup (UPS) for domestic orders...

Any ideas.

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason,

What you can do is keep DHL and UPS for domestic orders, and for all international orders add one of the other stock MIVA Merchant shipping modules and call those methods "International shipping" so that these are selected by your international customers. I don't think you can merge a manually created table into the DHL module, but you certainly can have multiple modules enabled in your store and one of them can be exclusively for international shipping rates.

Thank you for the info. I will give that a try!

You can enter the weight tables into an internation shipping module to automatically apply the rate based on the ship to location. There are several World Zone shipping modules at Emporium Plus, e.g. http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00029

That module lets you setup the weight ranges and amount for those ranges per zone. So while you might have Brazil, Argentina, etc in one zone, you could have entirely different rates for the zone containing Spain, France, etc.

That is good information. I think I have this figured out now. I appreciate the help.

Hi,

I was wondering if you could let me know what solution you ended up going with for handling DHL International Shipping calculations via Miva? I'm currently looking to do the same thing and was hoping to find out if others have had success with this task. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Michael
