installing openui

I finally got my store open! Yeah! However, I am about to install the openui module. I am wondering if I should close the store for maintenence while I am installing openui or anyother module? Should I back up the store first? Any suggestions?

Definitely back it up first, maintenance mode is a good idea too. Also don't forget that after you install it but before you switch your layout to it, go into Utilities -> Export and export the look and feel, switch the layout to OUI, then Utilies -> Import and bring the look and feel back in.

You'll also want to delete all baskets (do not recover order numebrs), and pack before you back up. Then follow the steps David mentioned, and pack again after you import your look and feel back in.

Dont forget to take the store out of maintenance mode afterwards!
