I am setting up some products that will be available in several fixed quantities with different prices (with possibly different shipping weights if we go weight based... not sure about that yet).

It looks to me like the only way to handle this in Miva is with multiple "products" e.g. one product for each quantity with a specified weight and price. Am I not seeing some features that would let me have one product available in multiple categories? It looks to me like the granularity of the database ends at the product level.

Thanks,

You said multiple categories, I assume you meant multiple quantities...

You can easily set up the product and assign attributes for the additional quantities and add a charge to the base price plus add weight based on the attribute.

Is that what you are looking for?

Yes... I did mean quantities.

Can you give me a pointer on where to assign the attributes on a per product basis ? I don't see this in the basic entry for for the product itself. Do I have to go somewhere else and enter it using the product code to "manually" match the attributes to their product parent?

Typically you do it when you create the product. Once you add the product and click on "Add" Not "Add+", you will get additional tabs, one of which is attributes.

You can learn how to add attributes, or if you have lots of products with the exact same attributes, you can create attribute templates (http://docs.smallbusiness.miva.com/en-US/merchant/5/webhelp/about_attribute_templates.htm).

See the MM5 docs. I've linked the respective words above to the section of the docs for you.

Thanks Vic... that got me started. I'll see how much damage I can do and return here later :-)
