Merchant-related question on Excel, but no forum to post it in

Miva, can we have a forum for questions related to Merchant that are not version-specific? This isn't off topic but there's no better place to put it.

Can someone refresh me on how to make Excel not add the quotes and commas to prices when doing a flat file export? For example, 1000.00 becomes "$1,000.00" in the file and that ruins the import into Merchant.

I would format the cells to be number with two decimal places and no separator. This keeps all of the numbers in those cells without any other formatting.

I have used this very briefly: http://www.openoffice.org/ I heard good reviews of it and interface is very similar to Excell. Its also free.:)
