Product export help!!!

Need help with exporting/imorting flat files of my products. I have many product names and descriptions with sizes in them such as 4", 2.5" and so on. When I try to save them as tab delimited files in excel, it treats them as strings and adds new "" marks to the entire group!

Any database gurus out there that can help with this? Is there a better programs I should be using over Excel? Thanks in advance for all and any help!

This is a known problem with Excel.

Save your modified file as an Excel csv file.

Open it in Notepad or any text editor that can do search and replace.

Do your first search and replace for ," and replace it with ,

Do your second search and replace for ", and replace it with ,

You're third search and replace for "" and replace it with "

Save the file and import into Merchant.

A simpler option is to open the Excel file, do 'select all' (shortcut: CTRL+A), copy all these cells, and paste all that into Notepad. Everything will be there tab delimited, and without any extra quotation marks. Save. Import into MM. Done.
