"A major online payment provider said Monday that its processing service had been used in an attempt to charge money to stolen credit and debit cards."

If you have an Authorize.net account, you probably will want to check your account out and see if any fraudulent activity was run through your store.

It's not the first time Authorize.net accounts are targetted by crooks to validate stolen card numbers... For the longest time you didn't even need a password to submit transactions through their system - just the account number. And that could be easily obtained by viewing the source code of any store that uses Authorize.net payment gateway. To this day many Authorize.net accounts are still in their old system and anyone with basic knowledge of HTML can easily exploit this HUGE security hole. I'm surprised credit card companies haven't forced them to patch this up years ago when it was first discovered...

This is not limited to AuthorizeNet.

Every payment gateway out there has had their bouts with fraud. This one just happens to be the latest.
