My client is wondering about Froogle and how much of an accounting headache it will create for her. Can any of you who have been using Froogle give me the good, the bad, and the ugly about handling sales and how you're integrating it into your daily bookkeeping?

Froogle is simply a search directory of products for sale. Froogle does not charge you for inserting your products nor for click through and sales. So there is no accounting involved. You can submit your product data with a data feed. You can follow their format and create the file using their instructions. Or you can use one of the 3rd party modules which create the data file using your store's product data. The Fast Data Feed is fairly easy to use at http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00201
or the Template Data Feed at http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00220
The latter is useful for producing all sorts of data feeds, eg the google sitemap xml or other shopping directories.

I haven't heard of accounting nightmares from any of clients. There are a couple of mods that will help you create a froogle feed (http://www.jmhonline.net/miva-modules/froogle) from weiland and netblazon.

Products submitted and listed on Froogle link directly to your product pages. Their are a couple of template based data feed modules available. I was able to list almost 3000 products in just a few minutes.
Froogle is great, no accounting issues at all unless you need to track where your sales are coming from but you can do that with the proper statistics package. I use the Fast Data Feed module and have had great success with froogle. If you have products to sell and you can get listed it's a no brainer. Free advertising and I get pretty good business out of it as generally people are looking for a particular item instead of the more general searches from the regular listings.
