Hi,

I'm pretty new to Miva and am having problems with an error when trying to process an order.

I am in test mode with both Miva and Authorize.net. I first batch my orders then click Process Orders. I get the Process Orders list with my orders. I select the checkboxes next to the orders I want to process, but when I click the Process button at the bottom of the window, I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says "1 error". The 1 changes with however many orders I try to process. Is this because I am in test mode?

Also, I have an encryption key set, and the first time I tried processing an order it asked for this at the top of the screen. It only aksed once and has never asked again though I have tried to process several different batches of orders.

Any help would be most appreciated.

It will only ask for the encryption key once per session; if you log out and back in it should ask again.

For the other issue, do you have authorize.net set to test mode as well? Both the store and their control panel need to be in agreement on that setting before it will work. I have to admit I've never seen anyone try to batch process in test mode though so I'm not sure if that will work the same as just testing checkouts in test mode.

Thanks for the answer about encryption. That helps.

As far as the processing error, yes, both Miva and Authorize.net are in test mode. I can create a batch etc but as you said, perhaps you can't actually process orders in test? I wanted to test everything and cover my basis before going live.

Has anyone else tested processing before actually going live? If so how did you do it.

Thanks

In all honesty, the only real way to test live gateway transaction processing is to use your own real card with a real order in your store.

You can always login to your gateway control panel and void the transaction.

In most cases, test modes with gateways just simulate a transaction and do not process all the steps a live transaction goes through.

Thanks, I'll check it out with my own card and see what happens.

Vic,

You were quite right. I used my own card and viola it worked! And here I had been bashing my head against the wall thinking it wasn't working...

Thanks for the tip.

Dont forget to login and void the charge :)
