The synchro.mvc for Merchant 4 that comes with Synchro 1.63 reports 1.62 when installed in the admin; is it correct that this is the most current module version?

Yes, unfortunately the 1.63 connector module displays 1.62 in the admin.

The admin in Merchant 4.X. In MM5 it will display 1.0001 for the version.
