Is there a token that I can use in Miva that wil display a welcome [user] message when they are signed in?

If you have OpenUI, yes.

Also, in the normal MMUI, you also have the option to display the login welcome (just not wherever you want it) under Stores > Your Store | Customer Links.

Not the standard MMUI version (it displays in the Cat tree which is not effected by the Category Template).

The openUI method requires that you use some other container to add the token. So, normally it does not.

If you are using Viking's Templates, then you must have OpenUI.

You will have to be sure to put %OUI% in the top of the template area you are adding the OpenTokens to.
