We'll be using this thread to announce each month's new MIVA Galleria Feature Site. So check back every month to see which store we've selected to showcase.

For the month of March, 2006, we selected Nautica Watches (http://www.nauticawatches.com). This store is a great example of what a web designer can do with MIVA Merchant 5. their designer, Carl Thien, as able to use the robust tempalte structure to create a user-friendly and accesible online store, and tied in their extensince CSS style.

"MIVA Merchant 5 is a fantastic product. I have created sites that can pass W3C validation as HTML 4.01 Strict, which was simply not possible prior to the release of MIVA Merchant 5. Valid code is very important to me, as are usability and accessibility."

Our April 2006 MIVA Galleria featured store is Sage Jewelry (http://www.sagejewelry.com). The designers that worked on this store, Gerald Cole and Jeffrey Joseph of eVillage Media Inc., were a bit hesitant at first to take the design job as the store was on MIVA Merchant 4. We all know how constrained that old version was.

Luckily for them, MIVA Merchant 5 had just been released, which gave them access to the page templates and Store Morph code. That power made the design work a breeze.

"MIVA Merchant already had a reputation of a robust, flexible backend with managing an online store. With MIVA Merchant 5 we were able to take advantage of these same benefits, but in the front-end."

The May 2006 MIVA Galleria feature story is OutdoorFurniturePlus.com (www.outdoorfurnitureplus.com). This is the second store for owner Nick Loeser. He had done a lot of research into e-commerce solutions in the apst and even had a Yahoo Store. That was an experience he'd rather soon forget.

"When I first switched to MIVA Merchant from Yahoo Store I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the different things you can do. Once I read around a bit I learned more about modules and realized that this was a truly diverse and serious shopping cart. I knew I was never going to outgrow MIVA Merchant and that's what I really was impressed with."

OutdoorFurniturePlus.com is yet another great example of what you can accomplish, design-wise, with MIVA Merchant 5.
